Best practices for Reddit
Warm up your account.
- Start slow.
-
Day 1: 1 comment
-
Day 2: 2 comments
-
Gradually build to 5–8 comments/day
-
- Cap it at 10/day.
- Reddit will flag accounts with unusually high activity
- Aim for consistency, not volume.
-
Goal: ~80 comments/month
-
Example: Shimmer hit 80–100 comments/month → $270k in a year.
-
Make your Persona more authentic.
- To make the best comments, update your Persona in settings
- Here’s shimmer’s persona (made 280k)
- Include stories that others can relate to
- Eg: If you’re building a finance app, talk about your own personal experiences with finances, and what helped you
- Goal is to add as many relevant stories as possible, those help you connect with others in your comments.
Don’t worry about Karma unless it blocks you.
- Don’t worry about karma unless it blocks you out of important subreddits.
- We’ve seen results from our clients who just purely focus on their target subreddits.
- If you must increase karma, put in random posts in r/relationship_advice, r/anxiety, etc., into playground, and generate responses to those.
